Kwaito musician Professor has received some backlash after expressing his frustration over the Ukhozi FM ‘Song Of The Year’ award. The song was awarded to Khuzani for his song titled ‘Ijele’, which received over 957 950 votes. The musician was apparently frustrated that Big Zulu did not win the award.

When the radio station announced their top 10, which included Big Zulu, many people were backing the hip hop artist to win the award including Professor. This was due to the artist’s hit track ‘Imali Eningi breaking records, therefore getting over 5.3 million views on YouTube. Since the song was played on a lot of radio stations for people including Professor, they thought that the ‘Song Of The Year’ award was definitely going to be received by Big Zulu. As the time came, the top three were announced.

The hip hop artist took the number 3 spot. According to ZAlebs, Professor said the radio station presenters Sipho Mbatha, Tshatha Ngobe and the listeners moreover Maskandi fans were jealous of Big Zulu’s win. “You are all jealous, Big Zulu did not win Song Of The Year? A song that is played nationwide and around the world, did not win. You guys are all jealous,” says Professor. Once the kwaito musician realised his flop he retracted his words, thereby apologising to the ones that he offended.
