In 2019, Lady Zamar went on to announce that she has opened a rape case against her former boyfriend Sjava. The case had a negative impact on Sjava’s career as social media users were advocating for him to be removed from events. The musician went on to speak up about how the sexual assault case has impacted him on his wellbeing and in his career.

The artist went on to defend himself against the allegations against him. It has now been recently announced that the National Prosecuting Authority has cancelled the sexual assault case against Sjava. The musician told Mzansi Insider’s Rorisang Thandekiso that although he has finally managed to find work after the case and have his reputation back, he still hasn’t managed to cope mentally. He says in public spaces he gets an uncomfortable feeling from people.

“My music can be on the charts and it can do well but that does not mean I have healed. I am still trying to fix my spirits to be where it was before. What happened to me was not an easy thing to go through. I do not wish it on anyone,” says Sjava. The musician’s role on Uzalo was cancelled due to social media users asking that he doesn’t appear on the show. Luckily, he managed to bag a role on Mzansi Magic’s eHostela season 2.
