DJ Fresh And Euphonik Release Immediate Statement Of The Star Witness In Rape Case. A witness of Nampree who is the rape accuser of the duo(DJ Fresh and Euphonik) for drugging and raping her and three other women at a party in Johannesburg in 2011, says that Nampree’s allegations are nothing but fabrication.
The complainant laid a charge at the Sunnyside police station on January 13. Lumka Mahanjana, spokesperson for the NPA, confirmed there were no prospects of a successful prosecution on the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient. “With regards to the DJs Fresh and Euphonik matter, the docket was indeed presented to the prosecutor. Upon perusal of all the available evidence in the docket, a decision not to prosecute was taken.”
DJ Fresh and Euphonik posted the immediate statement made by Nampree’s friend, claiming that the allegations were nothing but a fabrication and DJ Fresh captioned it: “@Nampree’s friend and “star witness” also confirms under oath that this is a lie!”
Euphonik also posted the same media statement, captioned: “@Nampree’s friend and “star witness” also confirms under oath that this is a lie!”
In a joint statement released on Monday evening, the duo said that the rape case was declined for prosecution. “We are pleased to state that after considering all of the evidence collected while investigating the claims made against us, the Chief Prosecutor has dismissed the allegations on the basis that the allegations are without merit,” the statement read.
“As we’ve said before, there are false allegations and we are deeply saddened that GBV, a serious crisis in South Africa, was weaponised in this manner. A huge thank you to all of our family, friends, supporters and to our legal team.”
