Dr Tumi Drops 14-track Album ‘The Great Shepherd’. The celebrated singing doctor is back to what he knows best: treating the public to songs of spiritual profundity. During lockdown last year, Dr Tumi hosted The prayer concert which was held to uplift the spirits of South Africans as the country battles with the coronavirus pandemic. The worship concert was live on Gauteng TV and on his Facebook page. The lockdown worship featured the likes of multi-award winning gospel artists including Lebo Sekgobela, Taki Ndou and Pastor Benjamini Dube. He has now put out another interesting project.
Dr Tumi has dropped his 14-track album titled ‘The Great Shepherd’ with one feature from Banele Mahlangu on a song titled Udumo. He makes the first track on Umalusi (Interlude) and seconded it with The Great Shepherd. Exclusively, Dr Tumi also released I Am Free off the album a long time in welcoming his fans to the album. Taking to social media, Dr Tumi was beaming with excitement as he announced that the much anticipated album dropped and captioned the post: “#TGSOUTNOW on all digital platforms. it’s a #DrTumiFriday wake-up to new fresh, quality music.”
The album comes after two years of not releasing any album. Dr Tumi, whose real name is Tumisang Makweya, made the announcement on his social media pages. “Haven’t released an album in almost two years. Truly grateful to share this offerings with you. So excited. #TheGreatShepherd #TGSOutNow Get it fam,” he wrote on Twitter.
Fans are excited to finally get to listen to the album as they reacted to the official album release. One fan wrote: “What did we expect @DrTumi Never disappointed each project we always filled by God’s presence we should know by now right? the standard is raised and always blown away, each song come with its annoiting in different level. DrTumi is genius of gospel music.”
