Heavy K Opens Up About Being Body Shamed Throughout His Career
Heavy K Opens Up About Being Body Shamed Throughout His Career. Drumboss ‘Heavy K’ sat down with popular Podcaster Mac G on his latest episode of Podcast and Chill. Music producer Heavy K dropped some of the biggest songs back in the days which are still making waves even today. In an interview with MacG, the DJ opened up about some of the bullies on social media throughout his career and how it affected him.
The DJ talked about being fat shamed and at some point he was referred to ‘DJ Fats’ and ‘Magwinya’ also known as vetkoek. “I am immune to people saying anything about my weight.” Mac G as sarcastic as he is, decided to poke a bit of fun at Heavy K’s weight and asked him when was the last time he saw his own penis. “I see I everyday,” replied the DJ.
This is not the first time Heavy K addressed critics focused on his weight. In 2018, Heavy K clapped back at tweets that weren’t “so nice” according to the DJ. “I won’t lie at times they (the tweets) do get to me, but that is probably only 2% of the time. When I see nasty comments about me or my weight, which I do, I just ignore it. The thing is that is how they feel about my weight or about me, but it’s not how I feel about myself. I’m happy the way I am. I’m not here for that, mine is to make great music,” said the DJ. He said perhaps haters had to redirect their hate to other aspects of his life because they couldn’t fault his music. Heavy K added that when he eventually decides to work out, he would document it so it would inspire others like him.
It also got to a point where Casper Nyovest stepped in to defend Heavy K from the bullies. Heavy K however said that he doesn’t care about the bullies adding that his weight never stopped him from living his best life in a tweet captioned: “They do it all the time but me I don’t give a shit bro I’m living my best life & my weight never stopped me from finishing them…”
