Rebecca Malope Reacts To Her Singing Impersonator. Jub Jub did a remake of his hit single titied “Ndi Khokhele” released in 2006, and featured the likes of Afro pop duo Blaq Diamond, Nigeria singer T’kinzy, Mlindo The Vocalist, Nathi Mankayi, pastor Benjamin Dube and award-winning gospel star, Lebo Sekgobela. The song proves to be a hit as it has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube till date.
Rebecca Malope’s verse received a lot of different reactions from Mzansi, as some impersonated her singing on South African popular songs and how some songs would sound like if they featured Rebecca Malope. One social media user posted a video of a young lady impersonating Rebecca on a popular song Imali Eningi by Big Zulu. The video caught Rebecca’s attention as she retweeted the video and said that it made her day. “She has a lovely voice. Someone tell Mbali she made my day,” wrote Rebecca.
Jub Jub also announced that all the proceeds of the song will go to the families of the children whose lives were lost in the tragic accident involving him, over a decade ago. “I will never, no matter what, be able to erase what happened or try and buy the families… it can’t happen, but I’m living with these scars every single day,” said Jub Jub.
Jub Jub and his co-accused, Themba Tshabalala, were drag racing in their two Mini Cooper S cars in Protea Glen, Soweto on March 8, when they ploughed into six teenage schoolboys and the accident resulted in the deaths of four of them, while two were left critically injured. Although the muso has not been in contact with the families of the accident victims, due to his parole conditions, he thanked South Africa for forgiving him and accepting him back in the community, in spite of his wrongdoing. “I would like to thank South Africa for being a forgiving nation,” said Jub Jub.
