Zahara Mourns The Passing Away Of Her Older Sister. Gospel singer Nomonde Mtukwana has passed away. Nomonde, who also formed a part of the Mkutukana Sisters band, which released an album in 2016, and a sister to award-winning singer and songwriter Bulelwa ‘Zahara’ Mkutukana, was reportedly killed in a tragic road accident on Saturday morning around the Mooiplaas area in East London, Eastern Cape.

Shortly after the news of the accident broke, Zahara took to Twitter to share a heartfelt message, captioned: “So yesterday was my last time seeing your face when you were at work yhini Masthathu mntakamama. Phofu andikwazi nokulila ngoba kum usaphila. Lala Ndebe.”

Nomonde was reportedly hit by a taxi while checking her car on the side of the road. The accident follows seven years after their brother Mbuyiseli Mkutukana was fatally gunned down after being caught in a crossfire between rival gangs in a nearby village.

Nomonde leaves behind her two children and four siblings as she passed away at the age of 45. The Mkutukana family said they were grateful for the messages of condolences, but asked for privacy during this time of grief.
