DJ Shimza Drops New Mix And Announces New Business Venture! The Calling Out Your Name hit maker has been quite active on his social media lately. He gave his latest mix a remix, which is now available on all digital platforms. The Hang Awt, which has been coined as, “The coolest hang out spot in Thembisa.” might be expanding very soon.

The house music producer and DJ has made a name for himself locally and internationally. His Afro-tech signature sound has earned him over 127k monthly listeners on Spotify and well-known hits like Uwrongo, Makhe and Dance Floor Keeper. He recently announced, “Out on my label, Kunye avaliable on all digital platforms..” The teaser video already got us up and moving!

The pandemic did not hold him back; Shimza’s One Man Show “Lockdown Edition” on YouTube was shot in Robben Island and is currently sits at 26k views. The touching “Aftermovie” features Nelson Mandela’s iconic bulletproof Mercedes that he was used for one his campaigns and an appearance from professional rugby union player, Siya Kolosi. The video focuses on his music is form of freedom and it’s impact, “… I’m going to be using my DJ’ing to impact other people’s lives in a positive way so that they can see that their dreams can get them to wherever they want to be and have good impact in other people’s lives.”

Shimza is also an entrepreneur, who ventured into the food business in October 2019. His restaurant, The Hang Awt 1632, is located in Ekurhuleni, Thembisa and their Instagram feed will definitely give you FOMO! Its filled with pictures of their delicious food, icy drinks and stylish customers smiling from ear to ear.

Shimza recently revealed that he will be opening a car wash soon. It’s so fitting with our South African culture; regulars probably can’t wait to relax, eat and get their cars sparkling clean during warm afternoons.
