This Virtual Series was filmed over the month of May at The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City as part of the  National Arts Council’s Department of Sport, Arts & Culture’s PESP Stream 2 employment stimulus package, in high definition television broadcast quality.  The concerts were ticketed in line with Covid-19 regulations at the time and allowed 250 tickets to be sold. Two of the three concerts were ”sold out” affairs and the shows were presented in the quintessential quality that the Bassline live at the Lyric has become known as, music performance in a state of the art, staging, sound and lighting experience.

Says Brad Holmes of Bassline Live “We are breathing a sigh of relief and  are excited to once again be doing what we love to do, and that’s live, quality, original and proudly African music.” “We are appreciative to the National Arts Council for availing this opportunity to expose these amazing artists at this time and for this exposure to be enabled to reach everyone that has interest in brilliant South African Artists and proudly African contemporary music.”

Zoe Modiga , like all the artists involved had a wonderful time on stage. ” The Bassline Live night was an incredible moment for live music. I enjoyed sharing the evening with Zu. and I am sure all the music lovers in attendance enjoyed creating magic with us. ”

She continues “I have always been appreciative of every opportunity to share my music and messages and this moment is no different. Music is the one superpower that is the soundtrack to our lives. This may be a frozen moment in time but I believe anyone who has the chance to watch the live stream will be impacted.”
