Here’s How You Can Be Part Of Afro-Punk Battle Of The Bands

Afro-Punk Battle Of The Bands is coming to South Africa in the city of Johannesburg’s Constitution Hill  on the 30th and 31st of December. The event is set to have internatiional acts and Local acts such as Anderson Paak and the Free Nationals, King Tha Vs Blk Jks, Black Motion, Laura Mvula and many more. The best part of the show is that fans will be given an opportunity to express their singing talent in the genre.

“Afropunk is a hotbed of creativity and style,” says Morgan, Director of the event. “And Battle Of The Bands has resulted in promising careers for a number of acts: Unlocking The Truth signed a record deal for $1.7 million, The Skins signed a record deal with Rick Rubin – co-founder of Def Jam and one of the most prolific producers in The World, and Tank and the Banga’s made notable media appearances including an amazing performance with NPR, the respected online radio station, they also won the Tiny Desk Contest which is a big deal.”

A winning Afropunk’s Battle of the Bands brand new local band that will take the title will get to join all the acts on stage.The online contest will be followed by the finals in Johannesburg. The finals will take the shape of shows in which the finalists will battle it out and will be encouraged to bring out their fans to support them.
