Dumi Mkokstad’s record label parts ways with Nathi Sithole. Gospel singer and songwriter Dumi Mkokstad is an owner of a record label called Shammah Records. Shammah Records has signed artists that grew and made their mark in the gospel industry.
Gospel singer Nathi Sithole was the first artist to be signed by Shammah Records. Nathi has been under Dumi’s guidance for nearly 6 years. Dumi assisted the artist with his debut album called ‘Wamuhle Jesu’ that was released in 2018. In 2020, the artist released his second album called ‘Ungikhumbule’. There is no doubt that Dumi Mkokstad did help the artist with his music.
In a public statement released by Nathi, he shared that he is parting ways with the label. He said that he wants to focus on his career as an independent gospel artist. Furthermore, Nathi added that he appreciates what the label and Dumi Mkokstad has done for him. All parties, Shammah Records, Dumi and Nathi agreed on this decision.
“This dispatch serves as an official statement to all relevant stakeholders, event organizers, and fans, that Nathi Sithole is no longer under Shammah Records after an amicable decision on the best interest of both parties”.
“He will pursue his music career as an individual artist. I appreciate the platforms and doors that Shammah Records opened for me and the guidance, coaching and mentorship by Dumi Mkokstad”, Nathi wrote in his public statement.
