JR sets the record straight on rumoured traditional wedding with Tshepi Vundla. Influencer Tshepi Vundla and rapper, Idols SA judge JR Bogopa have been together for over 6 years and have two kids. The couple had their lobola day back in December 2022.
Earlier in February, the couple had a traditional ceremony to celebrate their union with both families and close friends. The ceremony was not publicized and there was a no photo policy. The couple later shared pictures of their special day on social media. After sharing pictures of their traditional ceremony, people on social media automatically assumed that the pair got married on that day. The captions on the pictures that were shared made people come to that conclusion.

In an interview with TshisaLive, JR clarified the rumours that he had a traditional wedding with her long- term partner. He stated that the ceremony was not a traditional wedding but rather a ceremony of bringing two families together. It was also a celebration of their love.
“We didn’t have a wedding but a family welcoming and celebration, made of close friends and our family on Saturday. It’s no secret Tshepi and I concluded our lobola process in December and this was our customary step”, said JR.
The information that had been surfacing on social media regarding their traditional ceremony was misinformation. The couple is not officially married.
