Prince Kaybee Details Why He Doesn’t Go All Out To Promote His Music
Prince Kaybee details on why he does not promote his music. House music DJ, Prince Kaybee shared what makes him different to other artists in terms of marketing music.
Most artists will go a long way to ensure that their music reach a bigger audience, however Prince Kaybee begs to differ. Taking to his Twitter page, Prince Kaybee shared why he would never go to extreme lengths to promote his music projects. The singer shared that he would rather die than to use external resources to promote his music as he believes that music promotes itself, but only raises awareness that his song will be released. He also shared that in as much as times have changed and people need make trends to promote their music, trends will never be more important than music.
“I’m so toxic I’d rather let my career end than use external things to promote it, like Im really gnna die with this cross of letting the music promote itself. I might raise awareness that music is out with a few influencers but that’s about it. Not taking away how the musical landscape has changed that there needs to be theatrics around a release for trends, that’s well and good but I feel that way is more about the theatre of trends than the music, that’s just my opinion”, Prince Kaybee tweeted.
He went on to share that in the 9 years he has been in the music industry, he has never promoted his music but still remain successful in his craft. He does not want to rely on external things to sustain his music career, such as trends because he want his music to be timeless. He further added that promoting music may work for other artists, but he will never take that route to sell his music.
“I want you to try find me and discover the music like a journey. I also don’t have a testimony of intense music promotion EVER. Through out my career I have never gone the whole 9 yards to promote music, its just been a successful career without it. Basically what I’m trying to say is sometimes its not sustainable to rely on things outside the music itself to get the impact that you need, trends come and go and I don’t want my music to come and go, I really find fulfilment in touching your soul with music, ONLY!”, Prince Kaybee tweeted.
Tweeps reacted to the DJ’s tweet by saying that it is a good thing he does not believe in promoting music. They shared that these days, artists do not put effort in creating quality music and rely on promoters to spread their music. “These days they produce crappy music, give it to struggling influencers to come up with a silly dance challenge then run for gigs money”, said one of his followers.
