Zakes Bantwini dragged over his performance in Israel. House music DJ and Grammy winner Zakes Bantwini’s fans are not happy about him performing in Israel.
After securing a Grammy award, Zakes has been scoring gigs locally and internationally. Taking to his Instagram page , Zakes Bantwini shared a video of himself traveling to and performing in Israel. In his caption he shared that he had a set in the desert and he made people party until the morning.
“They said your set at the desert is at 7:30- 10 am. I said you mean pm? They said no sir am the at midnight and ends at 10 am with your closing set and the rest is history”, Zakes Bantwini shared.
People took to his comment section to share how they feel about him performing in an apartheid state. They shared that they love his music and respect his craft, but as a South African artist he should have not accepted the gig in Israel. “Why oh why do you play gigs in Israel? Back in the bad old days, no respectful artist entertained the whites in Sun City”, said one of his followers.
Zakes Bantwini is not the first South Africa’s celebrity to be called out for attending or having a show in Israel. Former Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane was also attacked by South Africans for going ahead with participating in the Miss Universe pageant that was held in Israel back in 2022. Zakes Bantwini did not pay any attention to the people who were calling him out.
