DJ Sbu slams the new energy drink Prime following its popularity in SA. Music DJ and podcaster DJ Sbu has added his observation about the new energy drink after it was making trends list.
The new energy drink called Prime had people in a chock hold following it taking place into to the South African market space. Prime is a energy drink launched by Logan Paul who is an American media personality. The energy drink came into the South African market space in April 2023. Initially, it was reported that the retail price for it was R500 but one of the retail stores in South Africa is now selling it for R40 a bottle.
The product has been trending lately on social media after people were hyping it and buying it in bulk. The energy drink sparked a conversation on Twitter and Mofaya caught strays. DJ Sbu took it upon himself to share his comment about the energy drink.
In a video he shared on his YouTube channel, the DJ stated that South Africans must not get excited and being enticed by international brands taking up space in South Africa. He shared that there is nothing special about the product. He further added that there are better energy drinks from South Africa including his energy drink Mofaya he launched in 2014.
“Be careful of being duped or enticed about all these European, American, foreign international brands and products when you’ve got better here at home. You could be so excited about wearing other brands when you’ve got better here at home”, DJ Sbu shared.
He further added that he urges people to not be easily influenced by expensive things that come from other countries. “Let’s not be too easily excited over things that are coming from overseas that are too expensive with no value to add into our lives as opposed to us having better and we’re not even aware”, DJ Sbu shared.
