Mandisi Dyantyis Set to Fulfill His Dream with a Grand Symphonic Concert on 19 July

Acclaimed Afro-Soul-Jazz artist Mandisi Dyantyis is gearing up for one of the most ambitious and heartfelt performances of his career — a symphonic concert set to take place on 19 July, marking the fulfilment of a long-held musical dream. This highly anticipated event will merge the depth of orchestral music with the soul-stirring essence of his beloved compositions, offering fans an unforgettable live experience.
The 42-year-old singer, composer, and storyteller revealed that performing with a full orchestra has been a dream he’s nurtured for years. “It’s been a dream for a few years, and the time felt right to do it now,” he told Daily Sun.
The upcoming show promises to be a powerful fusion of worlds, featuring Mandisi’s signature seven-piece band, his vocal ensemble, and a majestic 50-piece orchestra. The orchestral arrangements, crafted by one of South Africa’s most respected arrangers, breathe new life into his existing catalogue, enhancing the emotional landscapes of his music.
“It’s really just taking my favourite compositions, getting orchestral arrangements done, and adding them to the live performance,” Mandisi explained. “On stage will be my regular seven-piece band and singers and then, we add a 50-piece orchestra.”
This grand musical production is set to feature a full symphonic ensemble, including violins, violas, cellos, double basses, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, trombones, tuba, percussionists, and timpani, creating a rich, cinematic backdrop for Mandisi’s emotionally resonant performances.
Known for his deeply personal lyrics and heartfelt delivery, Mandisi has built a loyal following by crafting music that speaks directly to the soul. “This show will feature all the fans’ favourite songs and more,” he said, assuring audiences that the night will be both nostalgic and surprising.
Mandisi’s sound is widely celebrated for its honesty and emotional depth, qualities that he believes are rooted in real-life experience. “My music is an honest reflection of my journey,” he shared, adding that life itself is his biggest muse.
When asked what performing live gives him, his answer captures the essence of his artistry: “Elation.”
With this symphonic concert, Mandisi Dyantyis is not only making a dream come true — he is also inviting fans into an elevated, soulful world where music meets majesty, and every note tells a story.
