DJ Zinhle Invites Fans To Be Part Of Her Upcoming Album ‘Zee Nation’ With Unique Album Cover

South African superstar DJ Zinhle, known for her infectious beats and inspiring energy, is making her next album a truly special fan-focused project. The album, titled Zee Nation, will feature a cover that highlights her loyal supporters, affectionately called her “besties.”
In a groundbreaking move, DJ Zinhle has invited fans to share their best photos on TikTok using the hashtag #ZeeNationFaceCard to become part of the album’s collage cover. The response has been overwhelming, with over 2,400 submissions flooding in so far.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Zinhle, whose real name is Zinhle Jiyane, 42, explained the deeply personal meaning behind this project: “Honestly, this project is as much about my fans as it is about the music. The Zee Nation has been with me throughout every season, from the decks to the boardroom, and it felt only right that they become part of this chapter.”
The idea for the fan-inclusive cover came up during a conversation with her husband, Bongani. “We wanted to create something that celebrates the community behind the music and this collage cover felt so powerful, it’s a facecard for all of us,” she said.
For Zinhle, the submissions are more than just pictures. “Every photo, every smile, every submission feels like a love letter from the Zee Nation. It’s a reminder about the deep connection. I call them my besties because they’ve supported me like real friends, and this cover is just a small way to honour that energy. We see each other,” she added.
The Zee Nation album promises to be more than just a collection of songs. Zinhle describes it as “a sonic love letter” that reflects the journey of her community. “The Zee Nation is more than just a name, it’s a movement. It’s the people who believe in me, dance with me and grow with me. The album is bold, layered, rooted in African excellence, and tells real stories, from the turn-up to the spiritual. Every track carries a piece of our shared journey,” she explained.
In addition to the album, Zinhle will host the Zee Nation Fest on August 9, a celebration uniting various musicians from different genres on one stage. This year, she is taking the festival experience to a whole new level.
“It’s not only a concert, it’s a celebration of culture, unity and music that moves the soul. Expect world-class performances, unexpected collaborations, emotional moments and pure joy. We’ve poured our hearts into every detail to make it unforgettable. Bestie, you don’t want to miss it,” she teased.
A standout addition to this year’s festival is a dedicated gospel segment, reflecting Zinhle’s personal faith and its importance in her life. “Faith has always played a huge role in my life, and it’s something many of us lean on, especially in tough seasons. I wanted to create space at the festival for gratitude, reflection and spiritual connection. Including gospel was about honouring that side of who we are. It’s a moment for us to be lifted together,” she said.
As DJ Zinhle’s Zee Nation project unfolds, it’s clear that the connection between artist and fans is at the heart of everything — turning music into a movement that celebrates community, culture, and shared experience.
