Selaelo Selota Celebrates 25 Years in Music with Star-Studded Nationwide Tour
Celebrated South African guitarist, composer, and vocalist Selaelo Selota is set to mark a remarkable 25-year milestone in the music industry with a highly anticipated nationwide tour kicking off this August. Known for his soul-stirring African jazz and emotive performances, Selota’s tour promises to be a musical journey rooted in storytelling, tradition, and timeless artistry.
The tour officially begins on 23 August 2025 at The Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, followed by performances on 30 August at Sun Meropa Outdoor Arena in Polokwane, and 6 September at the Emerald Casino Arena in Vanderbijlpark. Additional cities and dates are expected to be announced soon, with surprise guest appearances set to elevate select shows.
Joining Selaelo Selota on this momentous tour is legendary songstress Judith Sephuma, whose long-standing musical partnership with Selota has produced some of the most cherished collaborations in South African music. Their on-stage chemistry and vocal mastery will be one of the tour’s many highlights.
The Polokwane concert holds special significance, acting as a continuation of Selota’s acclaimed 2022 One Country Concert, which debuted at the Ditsong Museum in Pretoria. For this event, Selota returns to his Limpopo roots with a powerhouse lineup that includes Ringo Madlingozi, Zamajobe, Dr Thomas Chauke, Mapula Monyepao, and Judith Sephuma.
Reflecting on his quarter-century journey, Selota shared, “I’m humbled by the journey so far — the years have been filled with growth, struggle, triumph, and most of all, love from the people. We’re taking people on a journey through sound, spirit and time. After 25 years in the industry, I want to honour every fan, every city, and every note that got us here.”
