Tyla’s New Mixtape ‘WWP’ Is Set to Be the Ultimate Summer Anthem

South African sensation Tyla is ready to have us all chanting “We wanna party!” all summer long with her latest release. Dropping on Friday, July 25, via FAX and Epic Records, her new mixtape WWP is a high-energy collection that perfectly captures the spirit of celebration and togetherness.

The four-track mixtape features a blend of previously released hits and fresh tunes. Fans will recognize singles like “Bliss” and “Is It,” but it’s the two new songs—“Dynamite,” featuring Nigerian superstar Wizkid, and “Mr. Media”—that bring exciting new flavors to Tyla’s evolving sound. Reflecting on the collaboration with Wizkid, Tyla revealed during an exclusive listening session in London that the song actually started as a demo back in 2022. “When I thought of doing a mixtape called ‘WWP,’ I went back to all my old demos and I remembered the Wiz one,” she shared. “And it was still good, like, after three years! I just told him, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to drop it.’”

Tyla also opened up about the meaning behind the mixtape’s title. “‘We wanna party’ is actually a South African chant,” she explained. “It’s been used forever to hype people up and celebrate that feeling of pure enjoyment. But for me, this mixtape isn’t just about partying—it’s about enjoying life with people I love, with those who are a vibe.” The title perfectly reflects the energy and mood of the project, making it an anthem for good times and connection.

The release comes at a thrilling time for Tyla’s career. The Grammy-winning star is slated to perform at the 2025 Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in New York’s Central Park on September 27. The festival will be headlined by The Weeknd and Shakira, with fellow rising stars Ayra Starr and Mariah the Scientist also featured on the lineup.

With WWP, Tyla continues to showcase her knack for blending infectious beats with heartfelt lyrics, cementing her place as one of South Africa’s most exciting musical exports. As summer heats up, expect this mixtape—and its irresistible chant—to dominate playlists and parties around the world.
