Judith Sephuma Set to Release New Album “When Winter Fades” on 31 October

Songstress Judith Sephuma is preparing to captivate Mzansi with her new album, “When Winter Fades,” set for release on 31 October 2025. This marks her first studio project in five years, following 2020’s “Power of Dreams,” during which she toured extensively across Europe.

The 51-year-old “A Cry, A Smile, A Dance” hitmaker explained that the album is inspired by the rhythm of seasons. She said it reflects life’s constant changes and the lessons we can draw from them. “We should always know that seasons change. Life is not static. Seasons teach us life lessons, that there is time for joy, change, and rest. We can learn and draw so much from the rhythm of the seasons. ‘When Winter Fades’ is a positive, uplifting, and inspiring body of work that celebrates the resilience and beauty of life’s transitions,” she said.

The album’s first single, “Back To Love,” was released on 12 September 2025. Judith revealed that selecting the lead single was challenging because every track holds significance. “Back To Love was ultimately chosen as the lead single because it reflects why I started making music in the first place – music is my first love. At times, we forget the importance of recording, but it always brings me back to myself,” she said.

Judith plans to release three more singles ahead of the album. “On 26 September, we’ll release ‘Mokete,’ a celebration song fit for any occasion. Whether it’s a wedding or a joyous gathering, this track is a true anthem for togetherness. Then on 10 October, we drop ‘Call My Name,’ a soulful and heartfelt song that evolved into a beautiful sing-along piece. On 24 October 2025, we’ll release ‘Makeba,’ a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Mama Miriam Makeba,” she said.

Judith credited the music of Mama Miriam Makeba, Mama Letta Mbulu, and Sibongile Khumalo as shaping her artistic journey. “Their work has always inspired me, and this album is a continuation of that legacy,” she said.
