Thulani Malevu Releases Debut Project Ubizo: The Calling

South African singer, songwriter, and spiritual storyteller Thulani Malevu has released his long-awaited debut project, Ubizo: The Calling. The album is a deeply personal and sacred body of work that positions music as more than art, but as ritual, remembrance, and a return to purpose.
Received during a season of rupture, awakening, and divine alignment, Ubizo is not presented as performance but as a spiritual document. “Ubizo is not just music, it’s a spiritual document. It’s a call to remembrance. A call to rise. A call to return to our roots, our power, our truth,” says Malevu. Each track functions as a portal, crafted not for trends but for truth and healing.
Rooted in ancestral sound and intention, the album invites listeners into a sacred space where music becomes ceremony, memory becomes melody, and healing feels possible.

- The Intro Maye Maye (feat. Mzilankatha Mbhali) – A spoken word opening signaling the start of a sacred journey.

To support the project, Malevu will stage Ubizo the Show, an immersive live experience that blends music, storytelling, and ancestral wisdom. Designed as more than entertainment, it functions as a collective ritual of remembrance and reflection.
Beyond music, Malevu has expanded his vision through the Thulani Malevu Foundation, founded in 2024. The initiative supports learners at Isizinda Secondary School, his alma mater, by providing school uniforms and mentorship. The foundation aims to inspire young boys and girls to dream beyond their circumstances.
He is also preparing the release of his debut memoir, Indaba Yami – My Story of Remembering. The book will document his life journey, spiritual awakening, and the lessons learned along the way.
A singer, songwriter, producer, author, and entrepreneur, Thulani Malevu has spent nearly two decades immersed in music, from school choirs to mentorship and independent artistry under his label MAPS. With Ubizo: The Calling, he returns to his roots, blending ancestral storytelling with soulful sound to mark his true spiritual homecoming.
