KLA Releases New Single “Peace” Exploring Self-Discovery and Connection

Johannesburg-based singer and multi-hyphenate creative KLA has released her latest single, “Peace,” following her previous release “In My Way.” Known offstage as Kayla Neilson, KLA has quickly established herself as a defining voice for a new generation of South African artists.
Produced and co-written by rising South African singer-songwriter Rehsa, “Peace” was born from a studio session that flowed naturally. “ ‘Peace’ came from that moment, where you realise not everyone will move at your pace, and sometimes you have to choose yourself. It’s about finding clarity and peace in the middle of change, whatever that looks like for you,” KLA explained. She added that from the first beats, the energy between her and Rehsa clicked, and themes of life, relationships, and inner peace guided the session. “The words and melody flowed so naturally, it ended up being one of the easiest, most honest sessions I’ve had.”
Musically, KLA blends pop, R&B, soul, and African rhythms into a distinctive sound. “Peace” explores themes of love, emotional disconnect, and self-awareness. KLA elaborates, “To me, peace means slowing down, being honest about what you want, and surrounding yourself with people who truly align with your values. It’s choosing connection over chaos, every time.”
KLA is part of a new wave of South African artists experimenting with R&B, soul, and Afro-influences. She strives to create music that feels timeless, capturing both familiarity and freshness. “I just want to make music that people can feel and sing along to, wherever they are in the world,” she said.
Beyond music, KLA is a model, content creator, and former Miss SA Top 35 finalist. She credits her time in pageantry with refocusing on her own dreams. “During Miss SA, I realised I was encouraging women to chase their dreams, but I’d stepped away from my own for a bit. That was a wake-up call. Since then, I’ve learned to give time to every part of me, the artist, the creative, the businesswoman. It’s not perfect yet, but I’m finding my rhythm again.”
2025 has been a year of growth for KLA. She has taken on new projects, released new music, and learned more about herself as an artist. “It’s been a beautiful mix of lessons and wins, and I’m excited for what 2026 is bringing,” she said.
With “Peace,” KLA continues to solidify her position as a versatile and evolving artist, blending musical innovation with personal insight to connect with audiences across South Africa and beyond.
