Seth Tabatznik Emerges as a Rising Folk Voice with Soulful New Single “Choose To Be Alive”

London-born folk artist Seth Tabatznik is gaining recognition for his introspective and spiritually infused sound. Based in South Africa’s Western Cape mountains, his latest single, “Choose To Be Alive,” released via Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart), demonstrates his meditative songwriting and deeply reflective approach, blending acoustic folk with elements of medicine music. The track has already drawn praise from CLASH Magazine, highlighting Seth’s growing presence in the Indie Folk scene. His music captures a reverence for nature and human connection, with organic textures and earthy tones that mirror the environment shaping his artistry.
Although Seth only debuted in 2024, he has surpassed 100,000 streams across major platforms. His live performances have also attracted attention, with sold-out shows at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town and Green Note in London’s Camden district.
Seth’s mentorship under Nick Mulvey has played a key role in shaping his forthcoming second album, set for release in 2026. Guitar teacher Rainer Scheurenbrand has also influenced his craft. Seth’s music evokes comparisons to Vance Joy, Paul Simon, and Mulvey himself, yet it retains a distinct authenticity.
“Choose To Be Alive” is a song about gratitude and self-empowerment. Built on acoustic guitar, soft percussive shakers, layered vocals, rich harmonies, and a haunting flute solo, the track is both intimate and expansive. It invites listeners to reconnect with life and appreciate the present moment.
Seth explains, “This song is very much inspired by my daily meditations. I follow Dr. Joe Dispenza’s methodology, and this song is what his message would sound like if he wrote singles instead of giving lectures. It’s about our power as creators of our own lives – taking responsibility for our actions and not falling into victimhood. It’s about gratitude for life itself, because good things flow to those who live with open hearts and choose to focus on what they have, not what they lack.”
With a second album on the horizon, Seth Tabatznik continues to establish himself as a compelling new voice in folk music. His serene, introspective style and commitment to connecting listeners with nature, spirituality, and personal growth make him a notable presence in today’s Indie Folk landscape.
