Ndlovu Youth Choir Announces 2026 South African Tour with Johannesburg and Cape Town Dates

As the new year unfolds, South African music fans have the chance to experience the captivating performances of the Ndlovu Youth Choir. Following a series of sold-out shows, the choir’s concerts in Johannesburg and Cape Town have become must-see events for audiences of all ages. Showtime Management has now revealed the tour dates for the choir’s 2026 South African tour, promising an unforgettable celebration of culture and music.
The tour begins at Cape Town’s Artscape Theatre Centre with a series of shows starting Thursday, 5 February, at 7:30 pm, followed by a second performance on Friday, 6 February, at the same time. Saturday, 7 February, will feature two shows at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and the Cape Town leg closes with two performances on Sunday, 8 February, at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Johannesburg audiences can catch the choir at Montecasino’s Teatro starting Thursday, 30 July, at 7:30 pm, with another show on Friday, 31 July. Weekend performances include two shows on Saturday, 1 August, at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and the tour concludes with two performances on Sunday, 2 August, at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The choir has expanded its repertoire for the 2026 tour, including a fresh arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, which has already received international acclaim. Roger Taylor, Queen’s drummer, shared a video of his admiration on Instagram, inspiring the young performers.
Founder and conductor Ralf Schmitt highlighted the diverse South African experience that audiences can expect. In addition to classics like Mbube and Homeless, the choir will perform Ghoema music, celebrating Cape Town’s Tweede Nuwejaar. The program will also feature Amapiano medleys and songs from icons such as Mango Groove, Hugh Masekela, Johnny Clegg, and Miriam Makeba.
Global hits are also included in the sets, reimagined through the choir’s signature style. Audiences will hear Circle of Life, Waka Waka, and Toto’s Africa, alongside South African anthems like African Dream and Pata Pata. The choir aims to engage new listeners while honoring its cultural roots.
