Tyla’s “Chanel” Rockets Up Spotify Global Charts

Tyla’s latest single, “Chanel”, has surged from number 177 to number 38 on the Spotify Top Songs global chart, amassing 31.93 million streams since its release on October 24. The track has overtaken her breakout single “Water”, signaling a new high in her music career.
“Chanel” is averaging over 2 million streams daily, steadily climbing the charts. Despite initial mixed reactions online, the song has proven its popularity, showing that a bit of controversy can fuel attention. Days before its release, American rapper Yung Miami accused Tyla of stealing her song idea, but this did not slow the song’s momentum.
Tyla Charts, which monitors her streaming data, reports that “Chanel” is now her most successful song on Spotify during its release window, surpassing previous hits like “Push 2 Start” and “Water” in the same early streaming period.
The song’s rapid rise is fueled largely by TikTok. Tyla’s dance challenge has generated over 3 million videos in under a month, boosting engagement and exposure worldwide. The track has also gained traction in Asia and the Middle East, with K-pop stars like Seulgi promoting the song and expanding its reach.
American singer Ciara has participated in the challenge, adding to the song’s international visibility. Despite limited radio support from her US label, Epic Records, “Chanel” continues to perform strongly on streaming platforms.
Tyla herself is seeing growth alongside her single. She recently surpassed 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify and currently ranks number 184 globally. This achievement positions her among the African artists with the highest monthly listener counts on the platform.
“Chanel” solidifies Tyla’s status as a rising global artist and demonstrates her ability to leverage social media, streaming platforms, and viral challenges to break into international markets.
