Makhadzi Opens Up After Car Accident: “God Protected My Voice”

Limpopo’s powerhouse Makhadzi is back in the spotlight, not for a new hit, but to reassure fans after a car accident on 31 December 2025 while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg. The 29-year-old singer, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, shared a heartfelt statement on 5 January 2026, thanking her fans—affectionately called Khadzinators—for their overwhelming support.

In her post, Makhadzi expressed gratitude for the messages, prayers, and encouragement she has received from South Africa and across the continent. “To all my lovely khadzinators, my fans, thank you for the love and support you have been showing me during this difficult time. I feel a need to update you about my health at this point because of the love and support you have been showing me, not only in South Africa but all my African followers globally,” she said.

The singer confirmed she has been discharged from the hospital and will spend the next 10 weeks recovering at home under the care of her family, as advised by her doctor. Despite the setback, Makhadzi’s spirit remains unshaken. “I know myself, I am a soldier, and I believe God is still going to do a miracle. I am slowly recovering well, trusting the process. I thank God for protecting my voice. 10 weeks might look like I will be lonely, but I believe God is giving me time to write beautiful melodies of good music,” she explained.

While she won’t be performing live, Makhadzi plans to stay productive in the studio. “I’ll be in studio doing what he saved me for, and also not forgetting to thank him for giving me a second chance to breathe. Zwinzhi ridozwiamba ngamurahu (Things will make sense later). I love you khadzinators. See you soon,” she added.

The accident sparked concern across social media, with fans and fellow artists sending messages of love and encouragement. Makhadzi’s update reassures supporters that she is on the road to recovery and remains committed to her music.

Even in pause, Makhadzi is proving why she remains one of South Africa’s most resilient and beloved performers, showing gratitude, faith, and determination while planning her next creative moves.
