Seth Tabatznik Drops Soulful New Single “We Are Walking Home”

London-born folk artist Seth Tabatznik has released his captivating new single, “We Are Walking Home,” on 30 January 2026 via Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart). The track comes at a key point in his career as he gears up to perform on the Forest Stage at South Africa’s Retreat Yourself Festival on 20 February, ahead of the release of his sophomore album, Awakening Embers.
Though Seth only started releasing music in 2024, his rise has been impressive. He has already accumulated over 200,000 streams, and earlier singles “Shining For Love” and “Choose To Be Alive” have earned praise from tastemakers like CLASH Magazine and EARMILK. This early recognition has positioned him as one of the fresh voices in the indie folk scene, both locally and internationally.
Now based in the mountains of the Western Cape, Seth’s music is shaped by his surroundings and a search for spiritual grounding. His sound blends acoustic folk with medicine music influences, layering soulful harmonies and reflective lyrics that speak to emotional and spiritual journeys. His songwriting bridges the old and the new, connecting timeless wisdom with contemporary melodies.
Mentorship has played a key role in Seth’s growth. Guided by Nick Mulvey and inspired by guitar teacher Rainer Scheurenbrand, Seth has honed his craft to create music that resonates with fans of Paul Simon, Ian Anderson, and Vance Joy. These influences are evident in the textures and themes of Awakening Embers.
“We Are Walking Home” begins with a haunting flute melody before introducing Seth’s calm, soothing vocals, repeating the song’s central refrain. Guitars, strings, and subtle percussion gradually build, leading into a rhythmic section infused with African-inspired instrumentation that brings warmth and movement to the track.
Seth shares the inspiration behind the song: “I had this lyric in my head for months: ‘We are walking home, into the womb of the universe.’ One day I started playing on the guitar, and the whole song came together in minutes. I imagined African vibes, similar to Paul Simon’s Graceland.” He explains that the song reflects a period of transformation: “A time of chaos and destruction, but also creativity and rebirth; of coming back into our hearts and remembering.”
Seth’s live shows have already made a strong impression. Sold-out performances at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town and Green Note in London’s Camden district showcase his ability to connect with audiences. His upcoming Retreat Yourself Festival set promises to solidify his reputation as a must-watch live act.
With a second album set for later in 2026, Seth Tabatznik is building momentum. His emotive songwriting, spiritual depth, and growing international presence make him one of the most exciting indie folk artists to emerge in recent years.
