Matthew Mole Kicks Off New Chapter With Hopeful New Single ‘Love Me’ Ahead of Global Tours

South African singer-songwriter returns with an upbeat indie-pop anthem about self-worth, connection and learning to believe the love that already exists around us. Global Tours on the summer horizon with more music to follow into 2027.
South African singer-songwriter Matthew Mole opens the next chapter of his musical journey with the release of his brand-new single, ‘Love Me’, out now.
An upbeat, organic and melodic indie-pop track, Love Me pairs a cheeky, playful energy with a deeply personal subject matter. While the song was born from a vulnerable place, its warm and accessible production deliberately brings a sense of positivity and joy to its message.
At the heart of Love Me is a feeling that many people experience but don’t always talk about: the gap between how we sometimes see ourselves and how the people who love us actually see us.
For Mole, the song came from the experience of sometimes believing the lie that he isn’t a good enough human. Writing Love Me became a way of processing those feelings and arriving at a more hopeful realisation: he is enough – particularly to the people in his life who love him.
Rather than dwelling on insecurity or inadequacy, Mole turns the experience into something joyful and uplifting.
“Love Me came from the experience of sometimes believing the lie that I’m not a good enough human. Writing the song became a way of processing those feelings and arriving at the realisation that I am enough – particularly to the people in my life who love me“, says Mole.
The song’s message is ultimately about learning to believe the love that already exists around you. The negative things we tell ourselves aren’t necessarily true, and feeling insecure or inadequate doesn’t mean that we’re alone or unworthy of love.
That contrast between vulnerability and joy is central to the track. While the lyrics explore self-worth, insecurity and the need to feel seen, the music is deliberately cheeky, fun and upbeat – reflecting the positivity and happiness that love can bring rather than becoming weighed down by the difficult emotions that inspired it.
Mole hopes listeners finish Love Me feeling hopeful, less alone and reminded that they deserve to be loved. Sonically, Love Me sits firmly within the indie-pop space, while offering crossover potential into alternative pop, singer-songwriter and feel-good indie. Its organic instrumentation and personal songwriting give the track an alternative edge, while its upbeat production and melodic accessibility make it equally suited to broader indie-pop audiences.
Rather than arriving as a standalone release, Love Me forms part of a special mini-EP, released alongside two B-sides. While Love Me takes centre stage, the release offers an early glimpse into the broader sound and songwriting direction of Mole’s forthcoming album, with the official version of ‘On My Team’ set to arrive later in the campaign.
The new music chapter will roll out across the coming months, with a second single planned for November, following Mole’s European tour and ahead of his South African summer dates. A third single is expected in early 2027, with ‘One of Those Days’ currently tipped as a likely release but still to be announced.
The release comes at an exciting time for Mole, where he will head to Europe for a run of tour dates in October and November, before returning home for a South African summer tour in December.
With Love Me setting the tone, Mole’s latest chapter promises to explore themes of love, self-worth, hope, vulnerability, connection, insecurity, positivity, belonging and feeling seen – transforming a very human insecurity into something joyful and hopeful.
Ultimately, Love Me is a reminder that the way we sometimes see ourselves isn’t necessarily the way the people who love us see us – and that we don’t have to face those feelings alone.
‘Love Me’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
