Khuli Chana Brings Motswako to the Big Screen With New Single “Victory”

Featuring Apu Sebekedi, Just SAM and Akili Blaq the single is the official soundtrack to BO’ MRYDA: The Dust Disciples, arriving ahead of the film’s release in early 2027.

South African hip-hop icon and Motswako pioneer Khuli Chana has released “Victory,” featuring Apu Sebekedi, Just SAM and Akili Blaq. The track is the official soundtrack to the crime action-drama BO’ MRYDA: The Dust Disciples, set for release in early 2027.

An anthem of resilience, brotherhood and determination, “Victory” reflects the film’s story of three township BMX riders whose lives are shaped by loyalty, betrayal and the fight to reclaim their community. The official music video, directed by the film’s director Kagiso Samuel Leburu, is scheduled to premiere on 6 November 2026.

Khuli’s role in the film extends beyond the song. He produced and curated the film score, bringing his musical vision and Motswako sound to the screen. He also earns an executive producer credit on a film for the first time, marking a new chapter in his creative work across music and cinema.

Set in the fictional township of Azania, BO’ MRYDA: The Dust Disciples follows Mochen, Arafat and Lawrence, three BMX riders whose effort to expose corruption leads to imprisonment, fractured loyalties and a transformed community. Directed and shot by Kagiso Samuel Leburu, the film explores brotherhood, justice and the circumstances that shape people’s choices.

For Khuli Chana, “Victory” carries the spirit of the story into music: the courage to keep moving through adversity and the determination to rise. With Apu Sebekedi, Just SAM and Akili Blaq, he brings together three voices in a collaboration rooted in South African township culture.

BO’ MRYDA: The Dust Disciples is produced by Leburugraphy Pictures in association with My Throne and Devandile Media. The film is scheduled for release in early 2027.
