Ntsiki Mazwai Might Be Off The Hook With Racist Allegations From AfriForum
Ntsiki Mazwai Might Be Off The Hook With Racist Allegations From AfriForum – Ntsiki Mazwai was accused by AfriForum of inciting negating comments towards white people.
The contentious civil rights organisation – AfriForum was protesting for Ntsiki Mazwai to be stripped her privileges to be a presenter at the DSTV channel. This was all aroused due to the fact that Multichoice came to a conclusion of putting a halt to all content attributing Steve Hofmeyr on its platforms due to its commitment – “committed to the building of a non-racial society and strongly condemns any acts of discrimination”.
They raised a concern that Ntsiki Mazwai needed to be dealt with in a similar manner, Ntsiki contradicted the allegation, claiming they are searching for hype using her name. According to TshisaLive – the Multichoice Group Executive for corporate affairs – Joe Heshu stated Ntsiki is broadcasting on a third party channel which means they cannot interfere with her employment status.
“There is a fundamental difference between people who appear on third-party channels, where we have absolutely no editorial control, and people who we employ, sponsor, associate directly with and appear on the DStv channels that are owned by MultiChoice Group, such as the M-Net, kykNET and SuperSport, where we would exercise control and ultimate accountability,” stated Heshu.
It simply means channels such as Afrika, BBC Lifestyle, SABC News, eNCA, Viacom and Moja Love – operate as fully independent channels that are contracted under Dstv. So, it looks like Ntsiki might be off the hook, or maybe they will find another way!
