The Kiffness Reveals How Much He Received From SAMPRA & Urges SA Musicians To Register Their Music
The prominent music performer, real name is David Scott asserts he declines to let the SABC play any of his songs advancing onward due to non-payment issues.
The Kiffness previously explained he will no longer be associated with the South African public broadcaster’s claimed exploitation of local artists.
The muso is challenging that the involved SABC settles the musicians “what’s owed to them”.
Now, he advanced and also called out that artists amalgamate in removing their music to put pressure on the SABC. In March 2019 in parliament it was Unearthed that the SABC owes R248 million, in debt to music rights organisations like the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro), the South African Music Performance Rights Association (Sampra), the Association of Independent Record Companies (Airco), the Recording Industry of South Africa (Risa) and more.
Just got another R40k from @OfficialSAMPRA. I thought the SABC were paying out, but confirmed not. I’m disclosing this information to show you that: 1. there’s decent money to be made from your work 2. you must register your music 3. The SABC are robbing us on a large scale.
