Gospel star and pastor Benjamin Dube has publicised that his church will not be opened at the current moment under level 3. The pastor’s church, High Praise Centre, will open when all congregants will be allowed to attend services. The pastor went on to publicise his statement on social media.
The gospel singer says they will wait for the levels are eased for every congregant to get in the churches. “Though the government has given churches the opportunity to assemble and be together, under strict conditions. We as High Praise Centre are not going to open our doors to everyone to come in. We are going to stay closed up until the level 2, if level 2 allows us to open to everyone then we will do it on level 2. If it is level 1 that is allowing us to open to everyone then we will consider to open in level 1. By virtue of the number of the congregation that we have…we are not able to just open for up to 50 maximum,” says Pastor Benjamin Dube. The gospel singer says that they will, however, keep on streaming the church services every Sunday.
The president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, publicised that churches might open from the 1st of June. There is also a limit of over 50 people in the congregation, with the church also getting sanitised before and after each church service. There were other regulations that were put in place for the churches. Some of the other churches also announced that they would stay closed with the concern of their followers.
