Music Fans Not Happy With The SAMA 2020 Nominations. The nominees for the 2020 South African Music Awards ceremony were announced on Thursday 9th of July.

The nominees for the 2020 South African Music Awards ceremony were announced on Thursday 9th of July. Prince Kaybee got four nominations in his pocket at the awards ceremony. However, the organisation got negative criticism because some of the artists that had their songs circulating in 2019 were not nominated for the awards.

Artists such as Master KG, Makhadzi, DJ Tira and TNS were among some of the people that who were not nominated. It was weird for a majority of people that some musicians could not get a nomination although their hit songs made waves in 2019. Some music fans bashed the awards organisation for not giving Master KG recognition. The musicians track ‘Jerusalema’ featuring Nomcebo Zikode has been part of households in the December season, the track has recently reached over 30 million views on YouTube.

Music fans also recognised Venda musician Makhadzi, stating that she also deserves to get nominated. The Jerusalema hit maker went on to congratulate the people that got nominated. “Congratulations to all the [SAMA 26] nominees Big love…I will keep working hard until the day [they] recognize me…,” Master KG.
