Tributes Are Pouring In Following Gloria Bosman’s Passing
Tributes are pouring in following Gloria Bosman’s passing. After the breaking news and confirmation of Jazz singer and songwriter Gloria Bosman’s death, people have been sharing tribute messages for the singer and sending condolences to her family.
Bosman’s family confirmed her passing on the 14th of March 2023, Tuesday but did not reveal the cause of her death. Taking to social media pages, Industry peers, close friends and fans shared their heartfelt messages and expressed how they feel about Gloria’s passing.
The SAMRO Music organization took to their Twitter page to share that they are mourning their fellow colleague. Gloria was appointed last year, December 2022 as the Non- Executive Board Member for SAMRO.
“SAMRO mourns the passing of legendary Jazz composer, singer and SAMRO’s Non-Executive Board member Gloria Bosman. Ms Bosman was appointed to the board of SAMRO at its last Annual General Meeting (AGM) in December 2022. She has left a lasting legacy with her brilliant catalogue and significant contributions to the South African Music Industry”, SAMRO.
Chairperson of SAMRO also commented on the singer’s passing saying, “In the short period that she was on the Board, she added a perspective that comprised of a rich blend of insights on member aspirations and the direction that our organisation should continue to march towards, ” SAMRO Chairperson, Nicholas Maweni.
Her fellow colleague in the music industry, singer and composer Sipho Hotsix also took to his social media pages to share his piece. He shared how disappointed and gutted he is for the loss of the Jazz star. “So sad, gutted, rest in piece my friend #Gloriabosman thank you for sharing your gift with us all. I am shattered. Love and respect Sipho and the hotband @SIMPHIWEKUBHEKA @thamiMgcina @Tabiasongbird #RIP Gloria Bosman”, Sipho Hotsix tweeted.
