Young Stunna Celebrates Major Career Milestone with Shekhinah Collaboration

South African musician Young Stunna, born Sandile Msimango, is celebrating a career milestone he has long dreamed of. The Durban-born rapper recently featured on singer Shekhinah’s track “Spoonky,” a moment he describes as a dream come true.
“Amaphupho ayafezeka (dreams do come true). I’m so speechless, I have been waiting for this moment my whole life, and I wish I could go back and tell my younger self wagwan in ‘25′, man,” Stunna wrote on Instagram. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, adding, “When big sis hit me up for this, I could not believe it because I am a big fan. Thank you so much for trusting me with this one, sis. Ticked another wish on the list.”
“Spoonky” appears as track seven on Shekhinah’s surprise album “Less Trouble,” which ends her four-year album hiatus. The album explores her emotions with renewed clarity and an unapologetic approach to her romantic needs. While introspective, the project remains vibrant, blending pop, dance, and Afrobeats, creating a melodic journey from dwelling on worries to embracing life freely.
The collaboration with Young Stunna adds energy and excitement, bridging their musical styles seamlessly. For Stunna, the feature comes as he prepares to release his second album, “Busisiwe,” following his 2021 debut project “Notumato.”
“Busisiwe” was first announced in 2023 with lead single “uNonkosi.” Stunna has emphasised taking time to perfect the album. “’Busisiwe’ – it is just me saying thank you. ‘Notumato’ was just the beginning, okay, I am introducing myself. And then Pops said the second album doesn’t have to be a pressure, I just want you to lead me. He said we’re going to take our time with this,” he explained to SlikourOnLife.
Fans continue to anticipate the official release date of “Busisiwe.” Stunna’s dedication to his craft, combined with his talent and commitment to his dreams, demonstrates why he remains one of South Africa’s rising musical talents.
