Mpho.wav Releases “Morwa Masingilo” With Thakzin & Nelia and “Mamano” With Shimza, Offering an Early Glimpse Into Forthcoming Sophomore Album The Wav

South African producer, vocalist and DJ MPHO.WAV opens the next chapter of his musical journey with the simultaneous release of Morwa Masingilo alongside Thakzin and Nelia, and Mamano alongside Shimza.
Different in energy but connected through the same wider world, the two records offer an early glimpse into The Wav, MPHO.WAV’s forthcoming sophomore album, due for release on 30 November 2026.
MPHO.WAV continues to carve out his place in South Africa’s electronic music landscape with a distinctive sound that brings together Afro-house, deep house, jazz, soul and gospel influences. Following the release of his debut album, Book of Wav, the multi-talented musician is building on his artistic identity, exploring new sounds and collaborating with some of the country’s most exciting names in dance music.
His latest releases showcase two different sides of his artistry, bringing together the emotional storytelling and infectious rhythms that have become central to his music.
Morwa Masingilo, featuring Thakzin and Nelia, is a celebration of new life, community and the promise of a brighter future. Inspired by a TikTok video in which Nelia is surrounded by family and friends celebrating the birth of a child, the track draws on the Xitsonga phrase “Amutaswivona kwe!”, meaning “Behold, a new generation is born.” The song captures the collective joy of welcoming new life, blending traditional African rhythmic influences with an uplifting dance sound.
On Mamano, MPHO.WAV joins forces with internationally recognised DJ and producer Shimza for a high-energy offering designed for the dance floor. Built around the Xitsonga phrase “Teka Mamano!”, meaning “Here, take it”, the track combines powerful vocal chants, driving rhythms and an energetic drop. The collaboration is particularly significant for MPHO.WAV, who has long admired Shimza’s ability to connect with audiences and take South African electronic music to stages around the world.
Together, the two singles offer a taste of what listeners can expect from The Wav, an album that promises to further explore MPHO.WAV’s musical versatility while maintaining the emotion, rhythm and authenticity that define his sound.
Morwa Masingilo and Mamano are now available on all major digital streaming platforms, with The Wav scheduled for release on 30 November 2026 through Platoon.
