DJ Maphorisa On Working With US DJ Diplo. We can all agree that Maphorisa has been owning the year 2017 with all he has been doing, his hard work in music has been paying off in more ways than one. Recently he has just dropped his 2017 album titled Gqom Wave Compilation and that’s just an addition to a number of countless projects he has been in associated on.

Performing overseas gained him a chance to work alongside the big acts in the Electro and Dance music scene, a good example is the renowed Major Lazer an electro trio group.

Speaking to Juice Publication he said that the experience with Major Lazer is “Major Lazer is one of the biggest groups in the world, and they’re really doing well. For me, and Nasty C actually, getting that opportunity was really dope for us. We’re really representing South Africa, and South Africa is really proud of us,” he said.

Maphorisa seems to be close to one particular member of Major Lazer – Diplo – and credits that friendship to his manager. “Shout-out to my manager, she’s the one who’s got a good relationship with Diplo. She said, ‘Diplo wants to hear your music’, so I sent a bunch of things. Luckily he liked Particula and said we need this in our EP and stuff. So I was like, ‘this is a great opportunity cause I’m a big fan of his music’, ” added Maphorisa.
