The SAMAs Opens Entries For 2023
The SAMA’s opens entries for 2023. South African Music Awards popularly known as the SAMAs are back yet again with the 29th edition for 2023.
The statement released on the 2nd of March 2023 on Instagram by RiSA, stated that South African Music Awards are now accepting submissions from artists for the 2023 awards. “The recording industry of South Africa (RiSA) invites musicians to submit their entries for the 29th instalment of the SA Music Awards from Monday, 6th of March”.
All South African artists from across every genre can start applying. The awards will consist of 30 categories including all the genres. The entries can be made on their website or they can hand deliver their applications. It was shared that the last day for the entries is on the 14th of April 2023.
“Entries eligible for a SAMA consideration in over 30 genre categories should have been released between 1 February 2022 and 14 April 2023. Submissions can be made on our websites www.samusicawards.co.za or delivered physically at UNIT 1, 152 Bram Fisher Road, Randburg. The closing date is on 14 April 2023 at midnight”.
In addition, the CEO of RiSA shared that it is time to recognize and award musicians that have been doing well so far in the music industry. He continued to share that he is looking forward to this edition and is hopeful that this year they will receive as many entries and set the record like the previous year.
“The SAMA entries have been on upward trajectory in the last five years, with last year setting the record with over 1300 submissions. This has been a satisfying vote of confidence in the SAMA and our system by the music recording community. We look forward to SAMA 29 continuing that trend. The music industry had been busting with new releases across genres and now the time has come to reward excellence”, said Nhlanhla Sibisi.
