Legendary Musician Ray Phiri Dies

On Monday it was reported that Jazz musician Ray Phiri was struggling with Lung cancer, sadly it was revealed this morning that the Whisper In The Dark singer has passed on.

Ray was admitted at Nelspruit Hospital the past weekend. When he was asked about his condition he said everything is under control and asked to be left alone with his illness.

Phiri was 70 years old. His full name was Raymond Chikapa Enock Phiri, his music career began in the late 60’s. Ray is leaving behind 3 daughters and a brother. He never finished school but he built one which is called “Ray Phiri Institute Of Arts”.
