Shekinah Speaks About Her New Solo Single “Suited”

Singer and Songwriter Shekinah Donnell spoke to TshisaLive about how she feels now that her new solo single is released. The 22 year old expressed that she felt nervous to share her music at first because she has been known only as the girl from the Idols.

Suited is the first song she has done on her own, in her previous hits she’s collaborating or just a feature. ” …Now I am offering my kind of music and because it can’t be boxed into a certain category, I have been so scared to let it go. I wasn’t sure that I would be accepted,” she said. The song Suited is a soft pop record and has some ounce of Electronic Dance Music sounds.

Shekinah’s single suited was released last week Friday. She is currently working on an album which she said shows off her personality, the album will release in September. “Although my first offering is quite light-hearted, it also gives off an emotional side of me. My album will show off my personality in a different light. But I am now okay with the fact that others may embrace it and others won’t. Everything always happens just as it should,” Shekinah said.

Shekhinah has made hit singles such as Back To The Beach  featuring Kyle Deutsch, Your Eyes with DJ Black Coffee, she has also worked with American’s Jason Derulo through Coke Studio collaborations.
