Cici’s Views On Dating In The Entertainment Industry Again

Pop singer Cici has expressed how she feels about dating someone in the music industry again after the whole incident with her former lover and boss Arthur Mafokate.

The singer has been involved in a relationship with Arthur for few years until their affair hit rock bottom where they both accused each other of assault and opened counter-cases. The Qiniso singer went on to say that she has learnt a lot from her past mistake and is not willing to repeat it. Speaking to Drum magazine she said she should never have dated in the industry.

In spite of everything that has happened between her and Arthur she said that she was grateful to him for the role he played in her career.”I will never take that away from him‚ but I should’ve stuck to the memo of never dating in the industry. It will never happen again.”

Like most women who date men who help groom their careers and feel used Cici went on to express how she felt like she was compromising herself. “I felt like I was compromising myself and I wasn’t getting anything in return. I was shutting out my friends and family. I was depressed half the time‚” she added.

Most people accused her for sleeping her way to the top she dismissed those claims by saying that she and Arthur engaged in a relationship later after her career launched. “The love came way later. People may say I slept my way to the top but that was not the case. The relationship happened later.”

Further elaborating on her alleged abuse from Mafokate she said that victims should speak up.

“Before being an artist. I am human. I saw no shame in saying this is what happened to me. I need to show people that they must speak up for themselves. So that someone could also get to a point where they say‚ ‘I am worth more that this person has downgraded me to be’‚” she said.
