Top 10 Things You Did Not Know About Jaziel Brothers In 2019 – The Jaziel Brothers, Johannesburg-based multi award-winning, platinum-selling musicians, producers and songwriters and one of the successful duos in South Africa.

Check Out Their Top 10:

  1. The creative duo, Luthando and Ntobeko Jaziel, prominently known as the Jaziel Brothers, established their music career and joined the industry by storm as musicians in 2006,

2. Theuy have earned numerous South African Music Awards (Samas) and Metro FM Music Awards (MMAs), although for work done for other artists such as Nathi on his album Buyelekhaya which included hit singles such as Nomvula, Jub Jub’s Ndikhokhele, Oliver Mtukudzi’s Ma Africa, Big Nuz’s Do you Still Remember, Dj Cndo’s I Didn’t Mean It, Kelly Khumalo’s iLobolo and Mandoza’s Love, to mention just a few.

3. They’re as close as brothers but are actually cousins Ntobeko and Luthando Ngcizela, better known to Mzansi as the Jaziel Brothers, have come a long way from selling meat to keep food on the table.

4. Originally from the Eastern Cape, near Mount Fletcher, but my parents moved to Klerksdorp because my dad worked in the mines. Luthando’s parents stayed behind, but he moved with us. We were brought up as brothers ever since.

5. They grew up in a musical family. They have produced a family gospel album (siblings, aunts and cousins) called Amaxebesi in 2003, which was only sold in churches, but it never went commercial.

6. They studied at Eastside College, Joburg. At Eastside they learnt everything – music history, sound engineering, vocal skills, music business. We loved R&B in high school, and Boys II Men were their favourite band favourite.

7. In the group, Luthando writes beautifully and can come up with the best melodies and lyrics, while, Ntobeko is more on the production side of things, but it just works and comes together beautifully.

8. Their greatest motto is to challenge themselves, and that’s why when they got a call from actor Sello Maake Ka Ncube in 2010 to do a production for a musical stage play called Taproots, they jumped at the opportunity. The twist was that the play involved dialogue, and doing pieces that were less than a minute long, and it was a challenge.

9. They have a fourth album, Out of the Box, 15-track album which includes songs with the likes of iFani, Big Nuz and Uzalo Choir, Amanda Black, Refi Sings, Tsoakae, Msa.

10. Their relevancy comes from paying attention to different things like doing research and listening to the music of other people.
