Thandiswa Mazwai Allegedly Owes Over R500 000 To SARS. Afro pop star Thandiswa Mazwai is currently under fire with the South African Revenue Service (SARS)for not allegedly paying the amount she is reported to owe which is R575 779.67. According to Sunday World publication SARS sent a letter to the musician last year telling her to settle her debt or risk legal action with the intention to execute her assets to cover the amount she owes.

Responding to the reports her manager said that the matter was due to misfiling of the older accountant. “We are engaging with SARS on some tax issues raised due to misfiling by a previous accountant.” She added that on to say that it is disappointing that an employee at the receiver has leaked erroneous information on the matter.

Mazwai adds to the list of a few more celebrities who have been accused of dodging to pay their taxes, the list includes AKA, Julius Malema and Somizi Mhlongo. Thandiswa hasn’t commented yet on the claims.
