Pics! The Script’s ‘Ground-breaking’ Performance In SA. Those who attended the epic and fun-filled performances of the Irish band The Script last week can gladly agree that it was just super amazing the way everything was set up, let alone the music that drummed through ears that were starved for the taste they offered. As planned their first performance was in Cape Town on 2 May 2018 at Grand Arena, GrandWest and 4 May 2018 in Pretoria at the Sun Arena at Time Square.
The band consists of three members Danny O’Donoghue on vocals, Mark Sheehan on guitar, and Glen Power on the drums. Drum caught up with Glen who shared a bit of his side on SA and his experiences, The 39 year old said that Alexandra has the most talented vocalists he’s seen. “I’ve seen plays in New York, in the West End in London [but] these were absolutely amazing.”
The Script is currently working with Afrika Tikkun, an NGO based throughout Gauteng that deals with child abuse. “I love the message that they have and the work that they’re doing to empower these young people,” he said.
The Drummer added his views on the matter of Freedom In SA. “Freedom of expression, freedom to be who you are and freedom to love who you want to love. That’s my dream [for South Africa], that everyone has that freedom. It’s not something you need to fight for, you know?”
