Tweeps Not Happy About Makhadzi Working With DJ Maphorisa Following His Assault Charges

Tweeps not happy about Makhadzi working with DJ Maphorisa following his assault charges. Singer and songwriter Makhadzi’s recent post about working with amapiano DJ, DJ Maphorisa left tweeps disappointed by her actions.

Not so long ago, DJ Maphorisa trended on social media after he was arrested on the 7th of May 2023 for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, DJ and actress Thuli Phongolo. After the matter was taken to court, Thuli Phongolo decided to withdraw the charges and therefore the amapiano DJ was granted bail of R4000. DJ Maphorisa was released and it seems like he is back into business.

Makhadzi’s week was not smooth as well. The singer was battling with her former record label, Open Mic Production after she revealed that the they did not pay her for her album sales. The record label blasted the alleged receipt of payments that were made to her. Following that scandal, Makhadzi’s fans were showing her support and defending her from all the remarks she received from social media critics. It seems like her fans cannot defend her no more due to her decision to associate herself with an alleged abuser.

A few days after DJ Maphorisa was released, Makhadzi took to her social media pages to share that he was working with him on new music. In her posts, Makhadzi shared how much he loves DJ Maphorisa and that they were in studio together making hits. “Studio session with my favourite @DjMaphorisa. Just inside the studio making them hits and let’s see. Maphorisa he is my brother and we made hits yesterday. @DjMaphorisa I love you my brother. Actually let me wake up and bath, it’s a church day”, Makhadzi had tweeted.

Tweeps were not pleased by her tweets and was criticized for working with DJ Maphorisa. Tweeps expressed themselves saying Makhadzi is wrong for linking up with the DJ right after he was in court for allegedly laying a hand on his girlfriend. Whilst others were sharing that she is not doing herself any favour with working with DJ Maphorisa, others stated that she should have worked with him in peace and should have not blasted it on social media for the whole country to see that she chose to collaborate with someone who is accused of GBV.

Makhadzi could not handle the heat and took it upon herself to delete her tweets.
