Pull up your socks and get ready, Jazz on the Lawn is “doing their thing”. They published their event and announced they will attribute Sakhile Mpendulo Nkosi – SA bassist.
The advantage Nkosi had while he was growing up was a musical family. They motivated him to play at a young age when he was eight (8) years old. As he developed with experience, he was launching into a skilful musician and showing manifestations of becoming a great professional musician. Looking back to his upbringing, when he was a teenager he was leading, piloting for Acappella groups. He was narrating and assembling a songbook for his then high school. You can never go wrong with experience. His discipline, commitment and hard work honed his musical skills, his decision of following his passion after he completed high school was no surprise.
Let us delve into his accolades, Locally he has worked with Wada Baloyi, Vusi Khumalo, Gloria Bosman. Also with Jazz Divas -(Tutu puoane, Sibongile khumalo, Melanie scholtz) he recorded with Dutch Electro Band Polynation, partnered internationally with Leoni Janseni (Holland)Mark Tuinstra (Holland). This is just naming a few the list is endless, but you get the incredible talent he possesses. He says he delights in his travels locally and abroad not forgetting his Quartet, wherever he goes.
Now, if you are interested in experiencing his music first hand make your way to the Lawn. Do not worry about food and beverages, someone will sell them for you.
