Singer and media personality Nandi Madida has also got in the talks of racism that has been happening in semi-private educational institutions. Durban Girls College was one of the institutions that was in the spotlight of the talks. Since the Black Lives Movement started in the United States of America, South African people have showed unity to the cause and they have been against any form of racism that is happening.

The media personality is a former student of Danville Park Girls’ High School in KwaZulu-Natal. Nandi Madida went on to say that say that she and some of her friends have endured this type of abuse in their schools, semi-private and private. “On the back drop of Durban Girls College alleged racism and the black live matters movement, I’ve had many friends express horrible stories of the racial abuse they endured in school, particularly semi private ad private schools…My story was no different as I attended these schools and I too endured such abuse. I wanted to unpack these stories and hope to be productive, honest and empowering live session with someone who understood such innuendos and the sometimes subtlties of such systemic racism,” says Nandi Madida.

The singer and media personality will be in talks with satirist Lesogo Tlhabi, commonly known as Coconut Kelz. The conversation between the two ladies will be on Monday, the 8th of June, at 6pm. They will be talking about the issues and the experiences that they had in their lives.
