Jamali Decides Its Time To Say “GoodBye” – Do you still remember the Coca-cola Popstars group Jamali has been hustling through for ages, although all good things come to the end! This female group has survived the longest and tasted its success.
The came position (two) behind Ghetto Lingo on the Coca-Cola in 2003. Their success has been a marvel. Now, the trio has come to a point where they are ready to venture into the music industry as solo artists, Jacqui Carperde, Mariechan Luiters will no more. When Daily Voice had an exclusive interview with the trio they revealed while at the Idols theatre auditions last week, where Mariechan and Liesl have been selected as vocal coaches, how the group was spliting and it was for the best.
They have indeed experienced success in their career, they have been nominated and also won awards and accolades, remember in 2009 when they were nominated and winning for best South African Pop act 2009.
Apparently, this is not the first time they have decided to go their separate ways, but this time they are determined it will be the last time. This is what was said, “ We pursued solo endeavours after the demand for pop music slowed down”. The problem the expectetion of their music did not decrease, they were still in demand and they reunited the following year. The separation is hard but also it is a much-needed remedy. They have been a guide to aspiring female group artist to believe that it is possible.
“I will cherish performing with my sisters on stage, but I am haapy for my own journey and ready to fly on my own.” She adds: “It’s been one hell of a ride. The struggles and and tears paid off.“We went from winning awards, travelling abroad, performing on big stages to meeting and performing for Madiba and Oprah!”
