  1. Her full name is Tabia Thembeka Khumalo known simply as Tabia from Diepkloof in Soweto and her majestic delivery is sure to earn her place among the greats.

2. She has never done never a 9 to 5. She went to school with the money she made from being a backing vocalist and earned a degree in journalism and a certificate in website designing.

3. She was raised by a single mother, doing piece jobs to raise her five siblings as she worked at different companies.

4. Her life took a turn for the better when she met Nonhlanhla Mahlangu a musician from her church in 2008 who took her under her wing.

5. She released her debut album on all digital platforms entitled The Journey under the name her stage name, Tabia.

6. She is the happiest when she is one with my family (her mom and siblings), she says they are in true harmony and there’s nothing else in the world except us. There’s no better pleasure than that, nowhere to be and nothing to worry about except enjoying a delicious meal with over endless laughter.

7. Music is one of, if not the only important, aspects of my life. Music means the world to her, it’s a way she relates to life, the world, and how she express myself. It keeps her company on lonely days, its something I can go to whenever she needs it. It’s one’s identity.

8. Her most treasured possession has to be her grandma’s photo in her purse. The picture keeps her memory alive, even she though no longer with us. She carries her everywhere she goes. She says she will give it to her children in the future, so they will know and see this amazing woman that carried her family through thick and thin and tell the stories to their future children and grandchildren.

9. she can’t dance, she says when she tries she looks like a headless chicken and that makes the audience to laugh at her. In a funny way, though.
