Watch! Jesse Clegg’s Teary Performance At His Dad’s Memorial Service – The memorial service was to pay tribute to an icon, Johnny Clegg’s son, prominent musician, Jesse Clegg represented his father well, detailed intimate lessons his father taught him and his brother. 

Multitudes, friends, family, fans and prominent figures packed the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, 26th of July 2019 afternoon for Johnny Clegg’s memorial service.

Johnny Clegg is a famous South African musician who has died and made an impact in SA through his music.

The man affectionately known as the ‘White Zulu’ continued to entertain audiences all over the world, and we can proudly look back over a colourful career that was never short of inspiration and enthusiasm.

Johnny Clegg was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the year 2015, although, he was persistent with his tour and went on to perform circulated the world.

The South African singer, Johnny Clegg has died at the age of 66 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer, on Tuesday, 16th of July 2019. 

Clegg said in a 2017 interview that his cancer diagnosis left him “another parallel world that I work in with my diagnosis. Pancreatic [cancer] is lethal. There’s no way out of it.”

Prior to Jesse performance a song that the whole family narrated together as a family.

According to TimesLive, this is what he had to say:

“It’s a song about the things in life you can’t replace … to my dad that was his family. Despite his success, his role in his family was his most important. He was a vulnerable, generous and loving role model for my brother and I.” 

“He taught us to be curious about the world and to shape our lives around our passion. He believed the greatest gift a father could give his son is a strong moral compass.”
